Matching items ask students to match a series of premises to a response. Premises and responses are shown in two columns, and you have the option of adding "distractors" (responses which do not match any premise).
To add a Matching part to a problem:
- Go to the problem.
- Select Add part and then select Matching.
- Specify the question.
- Add matched pairs of premises and responses. Note that premises and responses are text blocks and you can add simple text, or formatted text with images.
- Premise-response pairs can be re-ordered by selecting the Drag handle.
- (optional) Add distractors (responses which do not match any premise).
- Preview the problem by selecting the Preview tab.
