Within course content, there may be problems that rely on images, diagrams, or visual content that are not fully accessible to screen readers. In these instances, you can provide accessible alternatives and display them to students who need them.
Specifying an accessible alternative part in a problem
To specify an accessible alternative part for a part in a problem:
- Go to the problem and edit it.
- Select Add accessible alternative and select an alternative part. This will add an accessible alternative for the part normally shown. Points for this part are inherited from the default part.
- Select the part to add content and change setting for the accessible part as desired.
Previewing an accessible alternative part
To preview an accessible alternative part:
- Go to the problem and select the Preview tab.
- In the Answers section, select Show accessible alternatives. When enabled, the preview will display the problem, substituting default parts with their accessible alternatives when provided.
