Academic integrity is essential to fair assessment of student work and maintaining trust in the learning environment. While automated systems can highlight patterns that deserve a closer look, only an instructor can interpret the educational context behind them. Reviewing flagged activities helps ensure that potential issues—such as collaboration outside expected boundaries, account sharing, or other irregularities—are considered in light of course expectations and institutional policies. By combining system-generated signals with instructor judgment, institutions can support both fairness and due process while keeping the focus on student learning.
As students work on assignments, Edfinity automatically analyzes their related activities, calculating a risk score. If the risk score is above a designated threshold, their assignment is flagged for instructor review. Note: A flagged activity does not mean that cheating has occurred. It only acts as a prompt to look more closely at the context.
