Most problem part types in Edfinity are auto-graded and do not require manual scoring. A few problem part types, however (e.g., essay, file upload, show your work, etc.), do require manual scoring.
There are navigation controls that make it easy to move between unscored items within a single submission, as well as between different unscored submissions (each containing one or more unscored items). These controls help you quickly locate and grade all unscored items. For instance, you can choose to grade problem #1 for all students before moving on to problem #2, and so on. Alternatively, you can grade all unscored items for student #1 before moving to student #2, and continue in that way.
To manually score student work in an assignment:
- Go to the assignment and select the Scores tab.
- Optionally use the Status filter to view "Started" submissions.
- If a student submissions needs manual grading, that will be noted on the score row.
- Select the student's name on a row that needs manual grading. This opens a grade dialog.
- Select View assignment to open the submission.
- The Items panel in the right sidebar indicates items in the submission that still need manual scoring.
- Select the Go to Item button to move to the first item that needs scoring.
- In the answer table, manually score part answers or the entire item as needed. See Adjusting a student's score for an item or item part in an assignment for more information.
