Edfinity evolved as a platform for high-stakes exams in over 30 countries and offers a range of sophisticated features and support services for testing and summative assessment. Edfinity is often used in conjunction with browser lockdown/proctoring tools such as Honorlock and Respondus.
If you plan to use Edfinity for summative assessments (i.e. tests and quizzes that count towards a student's grade), please use the following guidelines to assess your support needs.
Smaller Classes (<30 students across all sections)
Tests for low-enrollment courses (up to 30 students across all sections of a course taking a test concurrently) do not require additional support. This feature is included in the base fee for the homework system. However, we do recommend that you share your testing schedule with us well ahead of time.
Larger Classes (>30 students across all sections)
For tests that involve sections with more than 30 students that are either taking the test concurrently or over a short time window (<24 hours), we strongly recommend additional support for reliable outcomes. Our support team usually makes arrangements for backup, redundancy, and performance monitoring. We also allocate dedicated personnel for the duration of the test for monitoring and support. In such cases, we may charge an additional fee per student to recover our costs. The fee is determined on a case-by-case basis based on the level of anticipated activity and support, and include access to Edfinity's academic integrity educator controls.
Please write to us at hello@edfinity.com at the earliest to discuss your needs. To support you effectively, we need to know (a) the schedule, format, duration, and time window of your tests, (b) the number of students expected to take the test, and (c) any proctoring software you plan to use.
