Several new features have just been released. As always, we welcome feedback!
Easy copying of LMS-integrated courses
When you copy an Edfinity-integrated course from within Canvas or Brightspace (typically, in preparation for a new term), Edfinity will now detect this action and allow you create a copy of your Edfinity course as well. This feature saves educators a significant amount of time in setting up and reusing integrated courses from one semester to the next. For more information, read the Canvas or Brightspace articles.
Assignment templates
Assignment templates are groups of assignment settings that make setting up assignments easier. When you apply an assignment template to an assignment, those values are copied into the assignment. Assignment templates make it possible to ensure that all assignments of a given type share a consistent configuration. See Getting started with assignment templates for more information.
Bonus credit for early work
Much like you might penalize students for doing work late, now you can reward them for doing work early! See Giving students bonus credit for early work for more information.
Extra credit problems
You can now use extra credit to reward students for working on more challenging problems. See Giving students extra credit for a problem in an assignment for more information.
Participation credit
Now, participation credit can optionally be awarded when a student answers a question, regardless of correctness. This can be useful in a flipped classroom setting. See Configuring assignment scoring settings for more information.
Changes to how scoring works
Previously, changes to scoring within an assignment were propagated to student work by publishing the assignment. Moving forward, if you need to change scoring settings after students have done work, you should explicitly rescore the assignment. See Configuring assignment scoring settings for more information.
