If you want to reward students who work on an assignment early, you can give them bonus credit for any work done by a given date. You can control how much bonus credit they receive and when they are eligible for bonus credit. If early work is enabled:
- Items worked on before the early work date receive bonus credit.
- Items worked between the early work date and the due date receive full credit.
You can make changes to the early work policy after students after they have started, and the changes will take affect immediately, but please consider how those changes will affect the students. Specifically:
- Changes to early work options can retroactively impact the credit a student receives for their answers. For example, assume you allow early work at 10% bonus credit, and change it later to 5% credit. In this instance, student assignments will be re-scored to reflect the change.
- Changes to a due date can also change where the early work period falls.
