What is ALICE?
ALICE is Edfinity’s generative AI model that has been trained to write algorithmic (randomized) WeBWorK problems.
What is ALICE trained to do today?
Input: Simple text (natural language) describing a math problem you want to be written.
Output: WeBWorK source code for a randomized problem with hints and a detailed solution.
Note: see the examples below.
What more can we expect of ALICE (by Spring 2024)?
Input: A picture of a math problem you want to be written.
Output: WeBWorK source code for a randomized problem with hints and a detailed solution.
What does this mean for educators?
- Authoring randomized problems will be a no-code effort requiring no technical skills
- Educators will have an unlimited supply of high-quality algorithmic problems
- Migration from any other platform to Edfinity will only take minutes to hours
When will ALICE be available to educators?
We anticipate early access for interested educators by Fall 2023.
