Alice enables the Edfinity team to import questions from any other homework system or platform in minutes. All we need is a screenshot of a problem, and ALICE can generate the code to get that question into Edfinity. ALICE can either import the question as-is, or rewrite it to change the question statement while preserving the mathematical logic of the question.
What is ALICE?
ALICE is Edfinity’s generative AI model that has been trained to write algorithmic (randomized) WeBWorK problems.
What is ALICE trained to do today?
- Input: A picture of a math problem you want to be written OR simple text (natural language) describing a the problem.
- Output: WeBWorK source code for a randomized problem with hints and a detailed solution.
What does this mean for educators?
- Authoring randomized problems will be a no-code effort requiring no technical skills
- Educators will have an unlimited supply of high-quality algorithmic problems
- Migration from any other platform to Edfinity will only take minutes to hours
When will ALICE be available to educators?
ALICE is in active use by the Edfinity team for authoring problems, and it's in a 'limited release' phase with a select group of Edfinity users. If you're interested in exploring ALICE's capabilities, we encourage you to contact us to join our early access list. You may also email your problem prompts to alice@edfinity.com and we'd be happy to share Alice-generated WeBWorK code with you.
